Ceramics Batch 1
My first ever ceramics experience was a success. I learned so much and I’m hooked! This endeavor was self-led, lots of internet and youtube research, plus support from studio mate Katie Kummerer who gave me a quick intro to ceramics and allowed me to rent her kiln.
I was overly cautious about glaze drips. This caused undesirable (imo) effects of too much raw clay showing. I also wanted to test a dark engobe but I didn’t love it with my color palette. although it may be better than had I left it out because of the extra clay body showing through on the vessels where I was hesitant to glaze too close to the bottom.
My favorite Gator piece cracked where I glued it. I still really love it.
