My work is about ideas and not beholden to any one media. Ideas about identity, self-actualization, transcendence, and mystery organize my artwork across mediums. I'm originally from the triad area of North Carolina. I grew up on the edge of Kernersville where I had run of my neighbor's farm fields and my father's hunting trails in the surrounding woods. Making up stories while exploring the land and my mother's mural and illustration art were my first encounters with creativity. In college I studied dance, writing, geology, and sculpture. I currently live just outside of Asheville, NC in the Blue Ridge Mountains with my husband and almost 7 year-old daughter.
